The Successful Have The Power, The Happy The Glory

Reading the title of the post, many people will think that you can be successful and happy. We will not say otherwise, in fact achieving success in any field doing what you like is a way to be immensely happy.

But the idea that this article wants to convey is based on these two assumptions: True success is not how it is sold to us. Real success is being happy.

Success in today’s world

Reputation, money, fame… ..but sometimes, at the cost of dignity.

It is still frustrating and uncomfortable that the total absence of talent, respect and culture has in our society a more generous and frequent reward than any reflective being can understand.

We are bombarded with images of perfection : perfect bodies, perfect families, overflowing bank accounts, lack of worries, effort, analysis, and why not say… a certain sanity.

Some by excess and others by default, do not know the true human reason and seem to ignore what we are really here for: choose a worthy profession with which to contribute to society, provide love and friendship to those around us or practice humility and simplicity, which is what really makes us great.

But being successful in this regard is associated with having power and possessions, but not happiness.

Happiness: get away from the madding crowd and find the true signs

The most passionate and happy people you may meet in your life are the least interested in being interesting to others.

For them, privacy is the maxim to safeguard their work from false flattery and gurus. They have fun without the need to impress, they worry about their finances but much more so that it is earned with effort and dedication.

Many of them can even be the spitting image of what they sell us as success: they have health, they have love and a job they love. But they don’t brag about it.

Perhaps they know the taste of defeat, and that is why they have learned that the best way to influence is at short distances. Preferably, they love relationships in which hearts draw close and minds find peace.

Most of us will never be able to own a quarter of a half of the material possessions of some people who sell us as successful.

But happiness does not lie in the material, but in knowing how to detect where the talent that elevates you as a human being is, that really helps you in your day-to-day life; and not in the success that is so dazzling, has caused you to close your eyes and be confused.

Happiness is in the details, on the road, in your attitude. You just have to watch out for the signs. If you only pursue success, at all costs and despite everything, you may have power, but being happy is more complicated.

Happiness: choosing the simple

So stop being frustrated. True success is being able to live as you wish : traveling, contemplating, opening the door of a calm home, continuing to get excited about buying simple shoes, managing to support yourself with an occupation that you like …

Ask yourself and be honest with yourself, beyond the canons established by society , what is success for me? What is being happy?

And when you know it, go looking for the signs that will lead you to it. And you will discover happiness along the way, indeed, you will begin to build it.

Analyze your life from a prism of satisfaction, never frustration. Feel happy to learn, to demand more of yourself, to be a better person.

Don’t be intimidated by speeches that explain where you should be at your age or what you should be doing. Chase the moments that make you happy, the little details, those that may not dazzle, but fill you.
