Their marriage ended and this event marked a before and after.
He had collaborated with various media outlets and had a certain audience. He wrote a book that was rejected by 26 publishers. 3. Frank McCourt, from homeless to celebrity
Frank McCourt is the author of the well-known novel Angela’s Ashes , which was also made into a movie. This work is precisely an autobiographical piece, in which McCourt narrates the overwhelming misadventures to which he was exposed since he was born. Basically his family was surrounded by misery. His father was an alcoholic who abandoned him and his brothers.
Precisely several of the brothers of this writer died because of the difficult conditions in which they lived. In a shack, next to a latrine and with practically nothing to eat. Frank had to work from a young age and go to school at the same time. He didn’t even have shoes to wear. He also suffered from typhus and almost died.
At the age of 19, and after patiently saving thanks to his job as a postman, he achieves the dream of his life: to return to America, where he was from. There he becomes a great writer. The work that tells of his misfortunes was also the same that led him to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1999.
